250 young creatives from around the world participated in Made in Cardato Contest while submissions were open. Two qualified juries selected projects as finalists – three in the Fashion section and three in Design.


The contest in numbers
The launch of the Made in Cardato Contest reached more than 400 fashion and design schools as well as independent designers, using the latest web and social media marketing strategies.
The Cardato website (www.cardato.com) saw more than 15,000 unique visitors during the period of the contest, while the contest facebook page (facebook.com/madeincardato) had 187,000 visits and now counts 1,550 fans. 250 young creatives between the ages of 18 and 30 years old registered for the contest, representing 37 countries from 5 continents.
In particular, entries came from 19 European countries (Italy, England, Romania, Finland, Ucraine, France, Greece, Germany, Hungary, The Serbian Republic, Slovacchia, Bulgaria, Sveden, Holland, Spain, Polond, Ireland, Estonia and Bielorussia) and 18 countries from the rest of the world: (Cile, United States of America, India, Uruguay, Mexico, Japan, Brasil, Phillipines, Thailand, Argentina, Australia, Domenican Rep., Colombia, Qatar, Pakistan, Ghana and Myanmar).


Two qualified juries
250 young creatives from around the world participated in Made in Cardato Contest while submissions were open from April 30 to July 15 2011. Two qualified juries selected projects as finalists – three in the Fashion section and three in Design. The experts included: for fashion, Claudio Orrea from Patrizia Pepe, Andrea Panconesi from Luisa via Roma, and Francesco Barontini from BP Studio; for design, Cecilia Chiarantini of the Istituto Europeo di Design, Luca Gambacorti from Studio Lato, and Sophie De Wulf of Style Sight.com. Partners from CLASS (Creatività, Lifestyle and Sustainable Synergy)also participated in the selection.

The 6 finalists’ projects will be previewed at Premiere Vision, where Cardato Regenerated CO2 Neutral will be present with a dedicated stand. At the end of this event, the six youths will finally have the possibility to come to Prato as guests of the Camera di Commercio, where they will transform their projects into real product prototypes.In this 4-5 day workshop visit, the winners will enter into contact with textile producers who adhere to Cardato standards, with the intent of choosing the right materials for and producing their prototypes. In December, the two juries will evaluate the finished prototypes and pick one winner in each section, who will bring hom the 2500 euro cash prize.
