MADE IN CARDATO CONTEST / fashion prototypes are ready, now it’s up to the jury of visitors at Première Vision (february 12-14, 2013, Paris)

Amazing new uses of cardato have been invented by young designers participating in the second edition of the Made in Cardato Contest. It was not easy for the team of the Museo del Tessuto to select the finalists, three for the fashion section and three for design. The quality of the projects presented was very high this year, and included a futuristic fabric lamp, a rug with a special support and a knitted chair. The fashion proposals were interesting and out of the ordinary: a sports outfit for biking and a series of coats inspired by penguins. In short, the proposals showed real creativity, which must now be translated into prototypes. It is exactly this which attracted participants to the contest: the possibility to implement their own projects, because in the end the winner of the prize money of €2,500 (one for each section) will be evaluated by the jury on the basis of the product produced and not on the project.

Countdown to the arrival of the six young finalists of Made in Cardato Contest in Prato.

Monday, November 14, Daniela Amandolese, Sandra Faggiano, Satu Salokannel Esther, Georgi Florov, Erica Marigliani and Alberto Messina will be in town, as guests of the Chamber of Commerce of Prato. They will be protagonists of a 5 days workshop visit, during wich they will enter into contact with textile producers who adhere to Cardato standards.

The second edition of the contest for young creatives in the fields of fashion design, product design and videomaking opens on July 2, 2012.

CARDATO CONTEST DATE AND AGE EXTENDED!!!

Due to the international interest expressed in Cardato Contest during Première Vision in Paris, we are officially extending the DUE DATE for signing up and sending projects until OCTOBER 31 2012. 
The age limit has been extended to 35 years.

How to recognize quality and characteristics of a fabric?

The event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Prato for Wednesday, November 16,  at the Textile Museum of Prato, at 4pm,  answers to this question.

This is a lesson on the fabric, titled "Knowing the fabric: definitions, features and tools," by the teacher in Textile Technology Matthias Zupo. The meeting will provide an overview of the tissues and their differences, will provide directions on how to distinguish their features, focusing in particular on the Cardato.

At the event will also present the six young finalists of the Made in Cardato Contest.
